Welcome!  You've probably arrived at this site for one of a few reasons...Either you are looking for Native American carvings known as "fetishes" or you're looking for something a bit "kinkier".  Well...This site is about neither of those per se but certainly has more to do with the former than the latter...

For many years now, I've lived in the Southwestern United States - both in Arizona and New Mexico and now Nevada.  While there are many beautiful and unique places to visit - the one things the area shares is culture.  A mixture of Native American, Spanish, Mexican and Anglo all mixed together in a true cultural melting pot.

Well, this site was named after my collection of Zuni stone carvings called "fetishes".  Used by the Zuni's to bring luck, good fortune, rain, fertility etc., these carvings are usually simple yet bold designs, carved in a variety of native and imported stones, that are used by Native Americans in their daily lives and are also prized by collectors.  The animals that are usually used as subjects all have different meanings.  The Bear for example is usually used to bring strength and health to its owner.  As a "former" cancer patient - these things meant a lot to me.

Whether it was the power of the bear or the love, prayers, medicine and surgery that followed - the bear became my own mascot and when I first began designing web sites for family and friends - I felt the bold simplicity I admired in the stone carvings could be a starting place for the design of websites.

Aside from making websites - I use this site to share information with friends, family and fellow travelers.  So, if you're interested in having me help you make a website - or are interested in such topics as motorcycling, photography, computers, cancer, life in the Southwest or our new life in Canada - just drop me a line.
