One of my hobbies is, and has been for many years,
computers. I've built them, modified them, networked them, ran a
large computer bulletin board and then gravitated to web design.
According to some, I have a knack for 'em and they've been a mainstay of
a great deal of my free time. Now days, I find that designing a
web site and doing it well is something that gives me a great deal of
pleasure as it combines computers and graphics. I do a bit of very
amateur photography and with a little help from Photoshop, can make some
fairly eye catching graphics. Making a web page is not all that
difficult with the use of some of the available software packages
available. Since my time is somewhat limited, I can't spend huge
amounts of time doing web pages but that doesn't mean a good, basic web
design won't sell or showcase your product or business just as well a
corporate site that may have cost thousands or even hundreds of
thousands of dollars.
My web designs are a lot like my bears - simple, functional and
strong. I can't promise you good health and strength but I can
offer an inexpensive way to get your ideas, products or family pictures
onto the web where they can be seen by people everywhere.
Designing a page as simple as this one is cheap! How
cheap? Well, I charge $40.00 an hour and can do something very
basic - including a custom logo or graphic in around 2-3 hours. Of
course, if you want hosting and things like a secure shopping site -
that's going to run a bit more but I'm very reasonable.
I use Microsoft FrontPage® to make the majority of my sites and do
so because it's intuitive and fairly easy. There are, however, a
few tricks I know that will save you some time and money. I
encourage others to use this program and to try and make your own web
sites but there are a lot of little things I know that can save you
hours upon hours. I know, because I've spent those same hours
learning.
Want to try it but need some hints and tips?
E-mail me and I'll
be glad to help you if I can. If I can't - I'll tell you.
